Toney Genealogy Exchange

About the Author

I met Ben Toney in 1959 when he came to Abilene, Texas as an employee of KRBC Radio. Since that time we have maintained a close friendship to the present. Ben's interest in genealogy first began when he and I tried to establish how we were related. Ben finally closed the gap and found that our respective families joined up sometime just prior to the American Revolution.

Ben spent about 15 years as a broadcaster. Among the positions he held in that industry was program director and manager of Radio London in London, England. Radio London was one of the largest radio stations worldwide, with a listenership at its peak of more than 20 million listeners. He was later a personal broadcast consultant to Constantine, the former Greek king.

Following his career in broadcasting, Ben was a survey navigator at sea for about 12 years. This job entailed exploration for oil. During this period he spent several years in Europe and North Africa.

Due to failing health, which he finally regained, Ben left his life at sea and became a professional technical writer for approximately six years.

Because of Ben Toney's 35 years of research on the Toney family, and because of his professional writing skills, I highly recommend this book to the reader.
