Are you researching the " Toney " surname or variations of it? Need more information? Wish you could hook up with other researchers and maybe save yourself some time and duplicated efforts? Well...You've come to the right place! This site is dedicated to promoting the Exchange of "Toney" Genealogy, a place for researchers to post questions and answers, upload and download information, view other related information (histories, GEDCOMS, Books etc) and participate in Toney related discussions (via the Forums). Hopefully, by doing this, we will all solve some of those ancient Toney mysteries! As stated above, the purpose of this site is to provide a common area on the Internet to share Toney related information. The site has been on-line since 1996 and many different researchers have contributed information during that time. Their help has been invaluable. I encourage you to join in the discussions and if you can, to help add to the site with information that you may have.
Whenever possible, correspond via the “forums” Bulletin Board when requesting/providing information or comments about your Toney line. That way everyone sees your posting and your request/comments reach a much larger audience. I always view each forum entry (and will respond if I have information to pass on), however I often cannot address questions on information that was provided by other researchers. With that in mind, whenever possible, address your comments or questions to the researcher who provided the information you are interested in. Their name is normally listed with the information posted or found under the researchers listing.
I maintain this site on a spare-time basis and of course can always use help in bringing new information to the site. If you come across other sites with Toney information, not listed here, please add the links by clicking on the view/add link . As you can imagine, there are many new sites springing up each day and it is virtually impossible for me to find them all in my spare time. If you have information of your own that you would like to have posted, GEDCOMS, family histories, pictureswhatever, please contact me an I will arrange to have it posted. Another Toney Family Forum
NOTE: About six months ago, this site was mapped by "Family Tree Makers" search engine. As a result, I have received about 50 E-Mails a week asking for information about individuals listed on the site. Great right! Well, unfortunately, 99.9% of the time I am asked for information that is not on my personal line and I cannot address. So....Please, Please post to the forums or address your questions to the relevant researcher. By using the forums others will see your requests and responses, and will be able to respond to your queries and benefit from your information also. Because of the quantity of E-Mails (and limited time for responses), I have had to limit E-Mail answers to general Toney questions; site related inputs and questions; and specific questions on my own line. Sorry...I am not able to answer specific questions on other lines....Wish I could, but I just can't....to much info.
By the way, I have posted all information that I have received on all other lines on the site. I do have additional information on my "Buckingham Co., VA" line such as pictures and family stories that are to detailed to post on the site.
